I was planning to make a recipe that called for cardamon, so I grabbed a bottle of it in the spice aisle at Safeway. I was shocked to see that it was $15! Fifteen dollars? We're not talking about the finest Tahitian vanilla, but a bottle of cardamon that I needed about 1/2 a teaspoon of. I found a slightly cheaper bottle and bought it, vowing to make chai desserts day and night until I felt less guilty about my expensive purchase. These chai blondies were one of the first chai recipes I found, and I was a good pick. Blondies are always insanely easy, and the spices in these left the whole kitchen smelling like fall heaven.
