Eggnog Cupcakes with Eggnog Buttercream

The ideas for making some festive Christmas cupcakes actually started with me buying a gift for a friend. I needed a special present for one of my best friends, and I wanted to get her some super fancy sprinkles since she's an incredible baker. My first stop was Sweetapolia, a company who makes the most fabulous sprinkles. After I added her sprinkle pack to my online cart I figured I should do my due diligence and see if there was anything I absolutely needed myself. Well, I needed these festive Christmas sprinkles. I chose an eggnog cupcake to make for them since eggnog is pretty much the most festive and seasonal beverage out there. The texture of these cupcakes was perfect, and the eggnog buttercream was unbelievable. Nothing says happy holidays like festive sprinkles! 

Quick Sweetapolita story, I actually stumbled on a bunch of them in Bulk Barn in Ottawa and nearly bought all the different varieties. I ended up showing excellent self-restraint and left with only two, but still, time to make more cupcakes!
