Last weekend there was a heat wave in the Bay Area. I'm not talking the ooof-it's-80-degrees-I'm-too-hot Bay Area style heat wave, but a legit real one. It was 109 degrees last Friday in San Jose, and the city even broke 100 degrees. It was SO HOT. I was in the mood to bake but wasn't feeling all of the fall treats I was seeing on my Instagram feed. I was leaning towards something fruity and refreshing, so lemon seemed like a good fit. I wanted to try a sticky bun type dessert to make use of the yeast packets I bought for no apparent reason, so this recipe checked all the boxes. The result was magical, they were sweet and refreshing, but still had the sticky bun gooeyness. As soon as it cools off I'll be ready for fall treats, but in the meantime these lemon buns hit the spot.
