My last apartment in San Francisco was dangerous close to Susiecakes, my favorite ever bakery. By dangerously close I mean about a 15 second walk. I've always loved red velvet, so initially my proximity to Susiecakes was a blessing. Long day at work? A piece of red velvet is just what I needed! Celebrating a win or a sunny Friday afternoon? How better to celebrate than with some RV (an abbreviation that only true red velvet fans use). I didn't realize how often I was treating myself until my roommate showed me a video he had made entitled "True Life: I'm Addicted to Red Velvet". The video featured clips of me eating red velvet, and there were a lot of clips. I wish I can say I took a red velvet break at that point, but I jut tried to cut down to an acceptable amount.

This red velvet cupcake recipe is my favorite. While I say I love red velvet, I think it's the cupcake and cream cheese frosting combo that really gets me. If you're looking for a good red velvet recipe I'd suggest trying this one first, I've tried enough RV to confirm that this one is perfect.
