Thumbprint Twix Cookies

I've been wanting to try these cookies for a looong time, every since I stumbled upon a photo of them. Twix are some of my favorite candy bars, so the idea of capturing  those same flavors in a cookie seemed right up my alley. I was looking for a delicious dessert to make for my mom to help her through a particularly un-fun day (DMV visit + waiting for Comcast). The result was magical, and my mom said they were some of her favorite cookies ever! She even started brainstorming for other things I could put in the thumbprint indentation (chocolate ganache, jams, the possibilities are endless!). I'm planning to make more of these around the holidays for gifts for friends, and let's be real, to eat myself. :)
